Every October, Toronto’s iconic Casa Loma transforms into a living, breathing horror story.
The Legends of Horror event turns the castle’s gardens, tunnels, and hallways into a 2-kilometer immersive haunted trail — blending theatre, storytelling, and special effects into one unforgettable Halloween experience.
Unlike a typical haunted house, this is a self-guided journey. You move at your own pace through dozens of spooky scenes featuring live actors, eerie soundscapes, and cinematic lighting. The result? A mix of fear, wonder, and fun — all inside one of Toronto’s most beautiful landmarks.
What to Expect
Your journey begins in the lower gardens of Casa Loma, winding through dark tunnels, fog-filled courtyards, and eerie chambers. Each section of the trail introduces a new scene — from gothic vampires to haunted laboratories.
Expect:
👻 Live performers and high-quality makeup
💡 Projection mapping on the castle walls
🌫️ Atmospheric lighting, smoke, and sound effects
🎭 Themed storytelling across different eras of horror
It’s not just a haunted house — it’s an interactive horror theatre that brings Halloween to life.

Visitor Tips
Before you go, here are a few useful tips:
The trail includes dark and narrow passages — not ideal for those with claustrophobia or heart conditions.

Avoid bringing large bags or tripods.
Expect intense lighting and sound effects — especially jump scares!
If you prefer something lighter, check out the Family Hour version for a fun but less frightening experience.
